Apologies that it has been so long since I have been on here.

With lots of uni work and various work placements, I have hardly had a chance to come on here and I have missed my blogging!!

Now let’s get back to why I’m writing this post.

It is time for…SONG OF THE WEEK!

Now I was lucky enough to see these girls sing this live at the Key 103 Live launch event in MediaCity, Manchester a couple of months ago; that would make it the second time I have seen them live and they are incredible!

The song I have chosen from them has really got stuck in my head and probably driven my friends crazy with the amount of times I have played it over and over again!

I apologise for the delay in new post to the blog but I have had a lot of work on at university and not had a lot of time!

But don’t you guys worry it will all be worth it!

I can confirm to you exclusively that I have not only scored one…not two…but THREE interviews with some big bands this year, including one who has featured on here before!

Now I promised you an interview with an up-coming band that have stormed the UK and have done their first tour dates in America.

Not bad for a group who are most famous for their parody of Ke$ha‘s Tik Tok three years ago.

They are sure to become even bigger I’m sure after conquering the TV world earlier this year.

Unfortunately due to their busy schedule, I didn’t get to meet them but an email interview is better than no interview!

Love.

It is such a big thing to hear someone say those classic three words you hear all the time in romantic films: “I love you.” You dream of someone special to you in your life to say those magic words to you.

There are different categories for love in songwriting: being in love, being in love with someone who doesn’t know you exist, falling out of love or heartache and moving on.

I will have to divide it up into a few posts so I don’t go on too much about one and not the others.

This post is going to be about being in love with someone.

It is one of the most amazing feelings in the world to be in love. To feel wanted by someone who loves you just  as much as you love them. For me personally, when I feel good about something I write a song about it so I can get some of my feelings expressed.

One of my favourite songs about being in love has to be Katy Perry – Teenage Dream.

This is another interview I managed to get whilst I was at the Make A Scene festival in June of this year.

Unfortunately, due to the weather I couldn’t get video of them but I still have audio!

This interview was conducted in this band’s actual tour bus and being a big fan of them as well made this experience so awesome!

They are an incredible band who I’m sure by next year a lot more people will know their name.

This song has been requested by one of my best friends, Bryoni, who I have mentioned on here before.

She has chosen The Dresden Dolls – Coin Operated Boy for me to give my opinion on.

My thoughts on it were 1) I must have heard her wrong with the song title as it is a very unique title and 2) what kind of genre of music will they be, seeing as Bryoni’s music taste is quite vast.

So I literally have no idea what this song may be like.

I think another inspiration post is needed. Not done one of these in a while.

Now if you know me, you will know straight away who this singer is as she is someone who I look up to and get inspired by so much.

I have mentioned her briefly before in a previous post about emotion.

She has one of the most under-rated and incredible voices in the industry today and she is only just about to turn 20.

Inspiration #4 is none other than the amazing singer/songwriter and musician Demi Lovato.

This song captured my heart when I first heard it as it showed the amazing love that this artist has for his daughter. If you are a country music fan, you may recognise his face and maybe even his famous country music surname.

Now I have got a new feature that I have been working on for a while.

This is going to be where I meet bands and interview them and ask them about their music, influence etc. At the bottom of each of these posts, there will be either an audio or video and audio interview I have done with the band myself.

No taking interviews from YouTube that I haven’t had a part in, just work that I have done!

This first band I have had the chance to interview are a really exciting band, that I was really lucky to be able to interview last weekend at the Make A Scene festival at Teesside University, Middlesbrough.

It is that time of the week again.  Yes it is song of the week.

Now this band are guilty pleasure of mine. Rising from their fame from the reality TV show, The X Factor, and have now become the biggest boyband in the world despite them only being formed at the judges’ houses.

Only coming third in the competition, it’s a surprise to see how far they have come from their beginnings as schoolboys wanting to pursue a career as a solo artist.
